(Beaver County Times) The U.S. Justice Department has asked a federal judge in Pittsburgh to dismiss Geneva College's lawsuit challenging proposed regulations requiring employers to offer birth control coverage that includes so-called morning after drugs that abort fertilized embryos, saying that’s “directly at odds” with its religious values.
The department says Geneva College in Beaver Falls won’t face any enforcement action until at least 2014 and that the law may well change before then to accommodate such religious views. However, the motion for dismissal doesn’t say what the school is supposed to do if those changes aren’t made by then.
