It's time to plan an active campaign of civil disobedience to resist the tyranny of Obamacare – despite what happens in the 2012 election.
I'm not counting on the Republican Congress or a new president to dismantle the socialized medicine plan that's coming. Already, Mitt Romney has hired to run his transition team former Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt, an advocate of state health-care exchanges of the kind necessary to implement Obamacare.
This is not a good sign.
While Romney has pledged to scrap Obamacare, the appointment of one who has been building the infrastructure necessary to implement it suggests accommodation and "reform" rather than repeal.
It's time for Americans, ordinary Americans, to begin planning personal active resistance to the threats to liberty all around us. We can't count on Republican elected officials to do our fighting for us.
It's up to every freedom-minded person, businessman, entrepreneur and family to fight against socialism and for religious liberties.
This is not a Catholic issue, alone. It's a fight that needs to be embraced by every Christian and every observant Jew in the country.
I pledge to do that. As a small-business man, I will refuse to be coerced to violate my conscience. I will not participate in any health-care mandates that require me to pay for or subsidize through insurance policies abortifacients, non-medically required sterilizations or contraceptives. Period. End of story.
Like Dr. Dobson said in his WND commentary this week, "So come after me if you must."
I'm right there with him.
You may not have a problem with sterilizations – or even subsidizing them with your money.
You may not have a problem with contraceptives – or even subsidizing them.
You may not even have a problem with abortions – or even subsidizing them.
But we cannot become a country that forces those who do to violate their deepest religious convictions.
Can we all agree on that?
More to the point, Obamacare is 100 percent unconstitutional in its totality – and I will have no part of it.
We need more Americans of principle ready to stand up, say it and mean it – no matter the consequences.
If you need some inspiration to prepare yourself for what's surely coming to America if we don't take a forceful, principled stand now, just go see the new movie "For Greater Glory."
It's a film made for a time such as this.
The time is coming in America in which we all need to decide whether we go along with tyranny or we become "Cristeros."
If you believe it can't happen here, you are badly mistaken.
It is happening here – right now. This is how it starts.
Liberty is worth fighting for. That's what America's founders showed us. We would do their memory a grave disservice by not making the sacrifices necessary today to preserve what they bequeathed to us.
It's time for Catholics, evangelicals, Orthodox Jews and other people of faith to unite against state encroachment into matters of personal and religious conscience. That is the essence of what triggered the War of Independence and set America apart from the rest of the world.
It's time for courage. It's time for organizing. It's time for awakening the tea-party movement to make this fight their fight, too.
If we need to march on Washington, we march on Washington. If we need to violate unjust and illegal edicts, we violate unjust and illegal edicts. If we need to go to jail like Martin Luther King Jr., we go to jail like Martin Luther King Jr.
Are you ready for this?
Are you prepared to fight for your country the way our forefathers did?
Are you willing to break out of your business-as-usual frame of mind?
It's time to stand up and take a stand, not worrying about the risks. Because the real risk is losing everything great about our country.
