WASHINGTON – In literary form, the message has been No. 1 among all Christian books since it debuted as “The Harbinger” the first week of January.

In its film form, the message has been No. 1 among all Christian videos since it debuted as “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” in March.

Some are asking how a hard-hitting message about Bible prophecy and its impact on the United States could still be eluding the attention of the secular media with phenomenal commercial success like this.

The answer may be as simple as the Internet.

The blogosphere, as it has become known, is literally ablaze with reviews and discussions of the best-selling book and film – and the comments are universally strong and positive.

“Yowsa,” said John on My Father’s Voice. “That’s pretty much my reaction after watching the two DVD set of “[The] Isaiah 9:10 Judgment. In addition, I also shook my head more than once in disbelief and what I was hearing … and then I did some wishful praying. If you want to challenge your thinking about what course of direction our country is in check it out. And I mean soon.”

The review continues: “Many followers of the Christian faith believe we are witnessing the end times as our world becomes more globalized and as the United States government continues to commit the sins of a nation on behalf of greed and corruption. An obscure passage in the Book of Isaiah describing the fall of ancient Israel, has since September 11, 2001, been eerily re-enacted in the United States exactly as it originally occurred in the time of the great prophet of Israel, leading to the nation’s demise. Has America set out on a similar journey which will lead to the eventual destruction of the United States?

“‘The Harbinger,’ a book written by Jonathan Cahn, has been shocking audiences by revealing the astonishing parallels between the fall of ancient Israel and currents unfolding in the U.S., what he calls “an ancient mystery that holds the secret of America’s future and the collapse of the global economy.

“Yet, while many Americans are making ‘The Harbinger’ and ‘The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment’ national best-sellers, the mainstream media has largely ignored their meteoric popularity. “Do you think there’s an increasing divide between Americans who recognized these eerie harbingers of judgment and Americans who don’t attribute any significance to these types of things,” Cahn was asked. “Absolutely,” Cahn replied. “We’re watching a polarization and this is a dynamic of end-times civilization – that the dark gets darker and the light gets lighter.

“Yet”, Cahn says, “’The Harbinger’ is such that you can be an atheist … and still say, ‘Wow. There’s something happening, there’s something going on.’ And I think there’s an underlying sense in America that there is something wrong, that we are in a critical period and ‘The Harbinger’ is connecting the dots in a way that, again, if you are a total skeptic, it’s still hard to avoid.”

Unsealed.org is another site impressed with the remarkable parallels between the demise of ancient Israel and the troubles plaguing the U.S. beginning Sept. 11, 2001, as told two different ways through the book and the film.

“Have you read this book or seen this movie?” the reviewer asks. “What are your thoughts? It makes a lot of sense to me.”

The book and movie revolve around an until now relatively obscure verse in the Bible – Isaiah 9:10, which reads, in the King James Version: “The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.”

“Isaiah recounts the defiance of the 10 Northern Tribes (Israel) [after 700 BC when] the Assyrians come and attack,” the Unsealed reviewer writes. “Instead of humility, [the leaders of Israel] announce their defiance. You Assyrians have knocked down our weak mud bricks. We’ll rebuild with solid rock. You have cut down our weak sycamores. We’ll replant might cedars (the word is pinecea = pine). Israel was ultimately destroyed because of their lack of repentance. The authors parallel the events since 9/11 with that of Israel.”

The blog points out that that verse was used to console the nation the day after the 9/11 attacks by Tom Daschle in a nationally televised speech to a joint session of Congress. Later, on the fourth anniversary of the 9/11, it was used again by Sen. John Edwards in a speech to the Congressional Black Caucus. It was also eerily referenced by Barack Obama in his State of the Union Address in 2009.

“Across the street from the North Tower is St. Paul’s Chapel,” the review continues.

In 1789, immediately following the swearing in of the nation’s first president, George Washington, all three branches of the new U.S. government strolled to the church from Federal Hall to pray at the church for God’s grace for the new nation on its first official day with a functioning government.

“In the yard of this church was a sycamore,” says the reviewer. “A tree that was split in half by the collapse of the tower. The tree died and was preserved and made into a monument. It was replaced with a cedar.

For a cornerstone [of the new World Trade Center Towers] a 20-ton Adirondack “hewn stone” granite monument was laid.

The book and video also point out that the America’s two greatest financial shakings, occurred on successive Hebrew Shemitah years following the 9/11 Islamist terror attacks on the U.S., the key to the series of limited judgments the author sees as a result of America’s turning away from God just as ancient Israel did before the dispersion.

“In between we had Katrina and have since had fires, floods, earthquakes, economic trouble, hatred, divisiveness and a growing hatred of God and His people,” writes the reviewer. “Interesting to me that 15 million hectares of North American pine trees have been killed by drought and the mountain pine beetle. This is roughly 37 million acres or 50,000 square miles” … “roughly equivalent to all the trees in Texas. Now we have three dozen wildfires and floods in the upper Midwest and in Florida and Georgia.”

In addition to the Internet buzz about “The Harbinger” and “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment,” the film is also being shown in churches across the country and in some theaters by special arrangement. Plans are now being made to show it on every Christian TV station in America.

The movie adaptation of the story told by Cahn film was produced by Joseph Farah for WND Films.

Cahn says he has found nine harbingers that tie the problems America has experienced beginning Sept. 11, 2001, to parallels that led to the destruction of ancient Israel.

“Before God judges a nation, He sends warning,” explains Cahn. “He sent warning to ancient Israel. He even allowed its enemies to breach its borders in a devastating strike that would traumatize the nation. It was a wake-up call, the call to return to God. But the nation responded with defiance. God then gave nine harbingers of judgment, nine prophetic signs, alarms and foreshadows of what was to come. Now America is the nation in rapid departure from God’s will. And God likewise allowed an enemy to breach its borders in a devastating strike – the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. It was, likewise, a wake-up call. But America, like Israel, has not responded with repentance, but with defiance. And now the nine harbingers of judgment have reappeared and have done so on American soil.”

Isaiah 9:10 is a verse in which Israel’s national leaders utter a vow of defiance following an attack by Assyria. It declared that the nation would not repent before God but would defy Him instead. Cahn reveals in “The Harbinger” – and in even more dramatic fashion in the video – that beginning the day after Sept. 11, 2001, American leaders began repeating that 2,500-year-old vow, word for word.

“Having no idea what he was doing, the majority leader of the U.S. Senate (Tom Daschle) was declaring America as under the judgment of God,” Cahn says. “It was the reenactment of an ancient mystery – and bore the most grave of consequences.”

He continues: “According to the ancient mystery revealed in the Book of Isaiah, if after that first calamity and warning, the nation doesn’t return to God but responds in defiance, it will end up triggering a second calamity. It was because of this ancient key, that, seven years after 9/11, the American economy collapsed.

In the days after 9/11, the Federal Reserve slashed the base interest rate in an attempt to defy the consequences of the attacks. That action put us on the path leading to the collapse of the American economy seven years later. In 2008, the government made a second fatal mistake, another ill-fated financial decision, that would trigger the collapse of the American economy. Amazingly, it took place on the seventh anniversary of the uttering of the ancient vow on Capitol Hill.”

Cahn also reveals in “The Harbinger” and “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” something that readers and viewers universally find astonishing – that New York’s Ground Zero actually represents more than the former financial center of the country. It represents the exact place at which America was first consecrated to God in prayer by the country’s new leaders.

“When judgment came to Israel, the calamity returned the people’s attention to the place where the nation had been consecrated to God – the Temple Mount,” says Cahn.

“God was calling the nation back to Himself. What about 9/11? Could there be, in the American calamity, as well, a mystery of return? Could there be a prophetic message hidden in the place where it happened? There is a place where America was consecrated to God in prayer. It is also a place linked to a prophetic warning given on that same day – uttered by the nation’s first president – now coming to pass.”

All of this is covered in “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment,” using, whenever available, actual archival footage along with narration by Cahn.
