(Associated Press) Authorities in northern Arizona are investigating an animal cruelty case in which a kitten was buried up to its neck in concrete and didn't survive.
Andrew Chatwin rescued the cat in late May from concrete inside a 7-foot-tall metal pipe he was using to build a horse shelter in Colorado City. The cat died days later at a Utah animal shelter.
Chatwin says he believes the act was in retaliation for his and another man's criticism of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, to which they used to belong.
