(TCPalm.com) No one can accuse a Stuart man charged with stealing more than four dozen campaign signs of playing political favorites.
Early Friday morning, deputies charged Nicholas J. Caputo III, 23, with 57 counts of petit theft for stealing campaign signs that lined Southeast U.S. 1 and Seabranch Boulevard, a Martin County Sheriff's Office arrest report states.
Caputo is accused of taking signs from 18 candidates across local, state and federal races such as the Martin County Sheriff, State Representative District 82 and U.S. House of Representatives District 18.
