(Florida Times-Union) Cliff Stearns has been in Congress since 1989. On Tuesday, by a less than 800-vote margin, the 12-term incumbent's career came to an end.
In an Election Day shocker, Gainesville veterinarian Ted Yoho sent Stearns packing in the GOP primary for the 3rd Congressional District, which stretches from Clay County to the Gulf of Mexico.
For an automatic recount to occur, there has to be less than a one-half of 1 percent margin of victory.
An official number must be determined within three days after the primary. Yoho unofficially won Tuesday by 1.1 percent.
