And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly. – Matthew 26:33-35
There's a back story to the denial of God at the Democratic convention this week.
The Democrats didn't just deny God once in Charlotte.

They denied Him three times.
First, God was stricken from the platform. When that decision was reported in the national media and criticized by Republicans, Barack Obama himself stepped in and pushed for restoration of references to "God-given potential" and affirmation of Jerusalem's status at the capital of Israel.

But the controversy didn't end there.
The platform amendments had to be ratified by the delegates on the floor.

On the first vote, the "ayes" and nos" seemed equally loud. The convention chairman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, tried a second vote. The results were the same. After a third try, Villaraigosa announce that that "ayes" had the necessary two-thirds vote to carry the amendments.
It was then that the decision was met with a wave of booing, with delegates shaking their heads that the threshold for approval had not been met.
What's the significance of the three denials?
It's reminiscent of the denials of Jesus by Simon Peter on the day He was arrested for a sham trial before the Sanhedrin. I didn't hear a cock crow at the Democratic convention, unless you count Bill Clinton's speech.
The good news for Democrats who were part of the anti-God convention in Charlotte is that there is still forgiveness available to them. Unlike Simon Peter in the Gospel stories, I am unaware of any Democrats weeping bitterly after they realized what they had done in the rejection of the Almighty.

But it's not too late for Democrats to recognize what they have done – not only in rejecting God purposely in their platform and by specific omission, but also in adopting a platform that is anti-God from top to bottom.
It specifically calls for child sacrifice – called abortion, these days. But not only do they condone the practice, they do so for any reason, at any time and with the coerced support of tax dollars provided by Americans with a strong moral and religious objection to doing so.
It specially calls for redefining marriage from the biblical definition of a lifetime union between one man and one woman to one that includes the union of same-sex couples, something termed an "abomination" by God.
And, equally importantly, it calls for the expansion of government and its pre-eminence over the conscience of individuals. As the Obama administration argued in court yesterday, the government can make a requirement that violates religious beliefs and that a company cannot reflect the religious faith of its owners.

This is a revolutionary platform – in the worst sense of the word.
It is anti-God, anti-Bible and anti-American.
I believe the Democrats' actions in Charlotte – along with their speechmaking – sealed their fate in the 2012 election. I would be shocked if they can recover from this debacle. It will far eclipse the radical convention of 1972 in the history of the party. I predict Obama and many congressional Democrat candidates will not be able to recover from this over-the-top, in-your-face performance.
Even Obama's speech was self-indulgent and worldly – similar to his Inaugural Address in 2009.
It was not inspiring. It was self-indulgent. There was no humility – no effort to invoke a higher power for favor and blessing. And it focused on his own efforts to "rebuild" America's fallen bricks – bigger and stronger.
"We will recover," he promised this week – just as he promised in his first speech as president in 2009.
This was, as those who have read "The Harbinger" and viewed "The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment" movie know, the same vain sin committed by ancient Israel that led to its destruction.
This administration is toast – and the Democratic Party is headed for a major shellacking in 2012.
