(PALM BEACH POST) A day after Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher acknowledged a new and different ballot printing error, Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner on Tuesday said he will again dispatch top state officials to monitor her operation.
“We are seeking answers from the supervisor’s office and their printing vendor to find out what led to the (latest) error,” said Chris Cate, a spokesman for Detzner. “We are also seeking answers about what her procedures have been and will be to resolve the issue. Before we can say whether she went through a ‘standard operating procedure,’ we need to know what procedures have been taken.”
With Bucher blaming the printer and the printer blaming Bucher, Detzner’s deputies will be here today to sort out what is happening, Cate said.
