(TCPALM.COM) STUART — A 25-year-old janitor at a private, K-6 school is charged with multiple counts of voyeurism after allegedly hiding a recording smartphone in the ceiling of a girls' locker room to capture images of the elementary school age girls, according to a Stuart Police Department news release.
Police on Monday charged Michael Girard, of the 600 block of Southwest 35th Avenue in Palm City, with 11 counts of felony video voyeurism and one count of felony tampering with evidence. He is being held at theMartin County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.
About 2:30 p.m. Oct. 1, some sixth-grade girls at The Pine School found the phone concealed in the ceiling of the locker room at the Lower School, according to emails school officials sent to parents.
