Politics has ceased to become an effective way for Americans to preserve all that made it the greatest nation on the face of the earth.
I saw this coming 30 years ago.
I noticed that even under the great Ronald Reagan, conservatives continued to lose the culture.

Cultural institution after cultural institution fell to the so-called, misnamed "progressives." (They should really be called "retrogressives," because they are not moving people forward as America's founders did. They are move them backward – toward state power. They are not removing the shackles from the people and placing them on the government as the founders did. They are putting government's shackles back on the people.)
Today, with the unthinkable, unimaginable re-election of Barack Obama, the revolution is nearly complete.

For 30 years, I've been calling on conservative Christians and Jews to partner together to lead a counter-revolution in the culture – to start creating new institutions and restoring some of the old ones, to withdraw from the institutions that are corrupting our culture and degrading our principles and to create their own counter-cultural institutions.
Few have listened. I haven't been alone in this call. But few have listened. Instead, the spiritual and ideological descendants of those who made America great and good have put all their eggs in the politics basket. As a result, each new election become harder to win. It's heartbreaking to watch as our national heritage slips away.

It's not just Obama's victory that distresses me – though that would be enough.
On Tuesday, Maryland became the first state to buck the trend of 31 consecutive defeats of initiatives to redefine marriage as an institution between one man and one woman. Same-sex marriage is now a reality because of the power of those in control of the culture who just keep wearing us down.
Many unworthy and unrighteous men and women were elected or re-elected to office.
The retrogressives are not only moving the ball forward in the culture. They are doing it now through politics with far too much regularity.
Conservatives and people of biblical faith are losing ground. It's undeniable. And we will continue to lose ground to the emerging faith in secularism.

Faith in secularism? Is that an oxymoron?
No, it isn't.
It takes more faith to believe in humanism than it does to believe in a Creator God.
God has provided all the evidence any of us needs to know about who He is and what He requires of us.

Meanwhile, the evidence humanism doesn't work couldn't be more obvious.
It is a religion. It's a religion that puts man at the center of the universe.
And it's the religion that is destroying America – making it weaker, denying all that is great and good about it, chipping away at what binds us together and dividing us up into special-interest groups rather than looking at individuals uniquely created as the children of God.
It's a long road back.
I'm not at all sure we'll get there.
But if we do, it must start with the collective and individual repentance of those of us who think of ourselves as children of God – who put Him first, our families second and our nation third.
Pray with me today – and tomorrow and the next day and for the next four years – that we will find and renew our relationship with the One who can revive us and restore us and save us from ourselves.
Our cultural counter-revolution can only begin with a spiritual revival.
That doesn't mean, by the way, that we have to persuade everyone in America to see the world as we do. God Himself gave us the prescription. It's much simpler than that. All we have to do is follow the advice He gave to King Solomon millennia ago in 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
God isn't counting on everyone to do this. He's simply calling on His people – those who are called by His name – to follow this simple prescription.
