(NYDAILYNEWS) — Pippa Middleton might be part royalty, but she’s having a little trouble with royalties. Middleton’s new book “Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends” — a guide to entertaining guests throughout the British year — has flopped badly in terms of sales.
The weighty, 416 page party guide by the sister of Kate Middleton managed to sell only 2,189 copies in its first week in the UK, and at the time of writing sits in 318th place in the Amazon’s bestsellers chart – and a pauperish 179th in the list’s British equivalent.
Publisher Penguin, which is surely sweating about the massive $600,000 advance they payed to the sister-of-the-wife-of-the-man-who-might-be-king-of-England, has been trying to protect its author’s dignity by refusing to release the book’s total sales figures thus far. Even large cuts to the book’s price, as much as 50% in some places, have seemingly proved ineffective in reviving sales.
