Arnold Schwarzenegger: ‘I love paying my taxes!’

(Politico) In a new interview with Esquire, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reflects on his time in public office and shares what he’s learned about politics.

“You can’t learn charisma,” said Schwarzenegger. “The power of influence is one of the most unique powers that you can have. It’s not the power of controlling people. It’s developing a certain skill of communicating what you want to accomplish so that people will follow you.”

Schwarzenegger also said, “Be a public servant. Not a party servant,” a statement that isn’t surprising given the fact that his own views weren’t always in line with Republican doctrine.
