High-speed chase over stolen Christmas trees

(WELLSVILLE DAILY) — A high-speed chase that involved stolen Christmas trees — one tree allegedly thrown at the owner of business while in his vehicle — has resulted in three arrests.

Despite a headline on the New York State Police website, “Troopers foil Grinch’s Christmas Heist,” this story might not quite be the Miracle on County Road 12, but it does have an ending in the spirit of the season.

On Sunday at 2:23 a.m., a call came in to the Allegany County 911 Center of the larceny of a Christmas Tree from Kent Farms on Jones Road in Andover. After a chase by Tom Kent and later Andover Police Chief James Rumfelt, three suspects were stopped and arrested by troopers.
