Mailman wins payout due to slippery boots

(TELEGRAPH) — A postman was awarded thousands of pounds in compensation after he fractured his ankle in a fall because the boots he was given by the Royal Mail were like “walking on oil.”

Patrick Bitton, 65, toppled over on a metal manhole cover while completing his round on a private driveway in rainy weather.

He described the boots he was wearing as the “worst piece of safety equipment” he had ever seen.
