(Sky News) President Barack Obama will attend a memorial service in the US town where a gunman killed more than two dozen people, later today.
He will speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims and the community at 7:00 p.m., local time.
During his visit, the president will “meet with the families of those who were lost and thank first responders,” spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement.
Twenty-six people, including 20 children, were killed when a man opened fire inside an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.
