So the Second Amendment is the problem? OK, while we are about the process of altering the Second Amendment, let's tweak a few others shall we?
For starters, I'm not sure just anybody should have the right to post an op-ed in the paper or go on TV and spout off. After all, they (or you, or me, or anybody) could be inflammatory. Have they had eight hours of state-approved public-opinion training and a permit from the state to write those words? Words are dangerous! How many people are dead for the influence of "Mein Kampf" or the writings of Marx?
And that whole "due process" thing and "speedy trial" … I'm not sure I like those either. I see a lot of abuse in the court system with criminals getting cut loose on technicalities. Let's tighten that up too, OK?

If you are a fan of any one of the Bill of Rights, you have to protect them ALL or you open the door to having the rest stripped, too. Give this camel a nose in the door and the rest is history. The RIGHT to "keep and bear" is supposed to be defended by us and the state, not restricted.
