So, what happens if the gun-control bill sought by Obama manages to pass thru both houses and then gets signed into law? Will this make instant felons out of anyone holding these firearms who refuse to turn them in? Will the ATF go after these weapons the same way they did at Waco and Ruby Ridge? Will the American people do nothing this time as well?
People need to understand that just because sheriffs refuse to do any confiscating, this will be the end of it. The ATF maintains offices in all 50 states and has its own SWAT teams. They will simply disregard local police and go about taking the guns themselves.
We are past the can’t-we-all-get-along stage as the other side is not interested in having and Second Amendment discussion. The feds are banking on the people willingly giving up their firearms after a few demonstrations of their power. This is what happened in both Britain and Australia. Feds most likely have already comprised lists of who owns what. The helicopter training you see going on around the country betrays the fact they will act and soon, whether they get a bill through Congress or not.
