(ACT.MTV) — GLAAD and former Boy Scout camp leader Derek Nance are calling on Carly Rae Jepsen and Train to speak out against the Boy Scout’s ban on gay scouts and leaders during their performances at this year’s National Scout Jamboree.
Carly and Train have supported LGBT equality in the past, so while money talks, it is GLAAD’s hope that both acts will do some serious talkin’ of their own when they take the stage at the Boy Scouts' event in July.
“Acceptance has never been a question to me. I’ve grown up knowing it’s just the way it should be,” Jepsen told TIME Magazine of her support for the gay community. The video for her hit song “Call Me Maybe” even ends with an innocent boy-on-boy twist.
