Always agreeing with the crowd of your peers doesn't get you noticed and makes you irrelevant. Bob Woodward is too smart and too shrewd to ignore that truism. Unlike his jejune, brainwashed and morally challenged colleagues in the mainstream media, Mr. Woodward, an inherently decent man, knows that standing up to power, especially sinister abusive power, gets you noticed. It also sells newspapers.
After the MSM organized themselves into a disciplined johnny-one-note cheerleading cult for Barack Obama, they became irrelevant not just to Team Obama (who have switched to new media like smart phones and Twitter) but to large segments of the public, as well. Indeed, mainstream media are losing money, trimming staff and selling off assets.
If they had any economic much less journalistic sense, the MSM crowd would stand up to the Obama mob and make it a real fight. Everybody loves a fight against arrogance and abuse of power. It wins Pulitzers and sells newspapers and ad copy by the ton. Just ask Bob Woodward.
