(EXPRESS) — FEW people would have the strength. But Kate McCann has revealed that she might be able to forgive the abductor of her daughter Madeleine “whatever the circumstances” – thanks in part to her Catholic faith.
In an extraordinary and candid interview, Kate, who will be running the London Marathon this Sunday to raise money for the charity Missing People, told of her and husband Gerry’s continuing pain some six years after their daughter disappeared.
But while she spoke of the continuing agony of “living with this void”, she also revealed that she had come to a point when she might be able to forgive the person who took Madeleine – whose 10th birthday is on May 12.
A practising Catholic, 45-year-old Kate said she had originally needed to know the motive for Madeleine’s abduction before she could address the subject of forgiveness.
