It's not uncommon to see spokespersons from high-tech companies appear before Congress and push for increased immigration of skilled high-tech workers, claiming there is a shortage. Actually, that is not the case. These companies simply want to replace current highly skilled workers because they are considered too expensive and are usually older. Just ask the many older workers who were required to train their replacements. A sad fact. And of course, when it comes to increased immigration, Congress just looks for excuses to ram more unwanted millions down our throats.
