Boehner huddling with Dems on immigration

(THE HILL) President Obama will meet Tuesday with a bipartisan group of congressional leaders as the White House seeks to corral support for a comprehensive immigration reform package before the summer recess.

The Oval Office meeting will include House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), the White House said Monday. Vice President Biden will also attend.

It is the president’s first meeting with the full congressional leadership since March 1, when the group gathered in hopes of brokering a deal to avert the sequester. That gathering was ultimately unsuccessful, leading to the implementation of the $80 billion across-the-board cuts.
