(EXPRESS) — A former woman police constable appeared in court accused of tipping off criminals with confidential information in a bid to sabotage her own force’s investigations.
Rebecca Swanston, 28, allegedly disclosed police intelligence and tactics to thwart her colleagues’ inquiries and stop them catching offenders.
The former Hampshire Police officer appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court to face three charges of misconduct in a public office.
She is alleged to have logged on to information systems including the police Records Management System and passed on confidential intelligence.
