How to make a BIG bomb

A former radicalized Muslim-turned-Christian is expressing alarm that jihadists are posting videos on the Internet that show how to build powerful bombs capable of bringing down buildings.

The alert comes from Walid Shoebat, a former member of the Palestine Liberation Organization who engaged in terror attacks.

“‘How to Make Massive Roadside Bombs’ – you heard it right, and forget exploding pressure cookers,” he told WND, referencing the relatively small explosives used by Muslim terrorists to kill and maim innocent bystanders at the Boston Marathon.

“As unbelievable as it sounds, Al-Jazeera TV, in collaboration with the Free Syrian Army, provided an exclusive training session on how to make an improvised explosive device,” he said.

IEDs were used extensively against U.S.-led coalition forces, causing about 63 percent of coalition deaths in Iraq, Shoebat noted.

He said the demonstration is not for “any small version IED, but the massive type that brings down large buildings and causes high death toll.”

Shoebat explained that terrorists wanted to know how to make a major explosive from simple-to-obtain materials, so Al-Jazeeera TV brought in experts from the Free Syrian Army who had an unexploded device and explained how it was made.

The video begins with Mahmoud al-Qin of Al-Jazeera explaining, “Many asked how they are made and how much destruction they can cause.”

Qin said an explosive expert “brought an unexploded roadside bomb from the free Syrian army and dismantled it away from civilian areas in order to answer these questions on how they are made.”

Shoebat said that he was unwilling to translate the rest.

The training ends with Mahmoud al-Qin, the Al-Jazeera correspondent, concluding the session: “These bombs are not that precise, 160 kilos of **** packed [with] some heavy metal objects. It’s not that accurate, but it sure causes immense destruction.”

“YouTube, like Al-Jazeera, has no scruples and has no restrictions to what is posted in Arabic; one can find thousands of downloaded videos on YouTube in Arabic from the most gruesome Joseph Mengele-type murders of civilians to bomb-making techniques and they do not bring these down,” Shoebat said.

On his website, he explains his qualifications.

“My parents sent me in 1978 to the United States to study at Loop College in Chicago. … There I was recruited at a hotel ‘terror conference’ by Jamal Said, a founder of the IAP (Islamic Association of Palestine) and imam at one of the largest mosques in Chicago. The IAP was a forerunner to today’s Hamas terror organization and also to the terror front group CAIR (Council for American Islamic Relations).”

He warns that the U.S. isn’t properly preparing to fight for its existence against terror groups.

“Our policy which places al-Qaida as the No. 1 threat is an incorrect premise,” he said. “All Islamist organizations should be a priority, beginning with CAIR and ISNA (Islamic Association of North America),” he said.
