Matt Drudge, creator of the Drudge Report, which had 11,744,532,797 visits in the past year, says a proposal by Sen. Dianne Feinstein to limit the definition of “covered journalist” is fascist.
Interestingly, it was an online reporter who in 2007 wrote a three-part investigative expose published in Metroactive, an online Silicon Valley news journal, which forced Feinstein to resign her post as Chair of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee.
Investigative reporter Peter Byrne uncovered evidence that exposed Feinstein’s involvement in her husband’s two major defense contractors being awarded billions of dollars for military construction projects approved by Feinstein and her committee. The ethics violation also was reported by WND. Intended to be the cover story for the leftist paper The Nation, the story was spiked by editor, publisher and “wealthy Democratic Party partisan” Katrina Vanden Heuvel, just prior to the 2006 Democratic elections.
The scandal was later identified by WND as one of the Top Ten Most Ignored Stories of 2007, and one of the 25 most underreported stories of 2007 by Project Censored at Sonoma University.
Twitchy reported last week that Feinstein “thinks a proposed media shield law should be applied only to ‘real reporters,’ not basement-dwelling, pajama-clad bloggers with no professional credentials.”
Not surprisingly, President Obama has pledged “strong support” for the Senate’s “media shield” bill.
They’re paying attention
Last Tuesday, late night cable TV comic Stephen Colbert did a suitable-for-adults-only bit about the dismay expressed by some at seeing President Obama’s foot on top of the Oval Office desk, a revered historic piece of Americana. The official White House photo achieved a degree of notoriety when we reported it here in this column, along with Red Eye’s Andy Levy and Greg Gutfeld, and former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino and Eric Bolling of “The Five”, who also called out POTUS’ show of disrespect.
But Colbert saved his best shot for yours truly, quoting from Surfin’ Safari’s Sept. 3 lead item:
“Is it possible President Obama had a White House photographer release this official image to the world to send a wordless message of support to the Muslim Brotherhood, Arab street and Islamic community in general? To convey his disdain and disregard for all things traditionally American? It is, after all, common knowledge that the Arab world considers the bottom of one’s shoes the ultimate sign of disrespect.”
We enjoyed the humor, but wondered, does Steven Colbert have a canned audience laugh track? Just asking.
‘NBC Nightly News’ still exists?
“Surprised to learn I had a tweet mentioned on ‘NBC Nightly News.’ Surprised to learn ‘NBC Nightly News’ still exists” – tweet by David Burge.
A tweet sent out by the popular wit David “Iowahawk” Burge, master of the clever one-liners, also got TV exposure last week when NBC reported his tweeted observation of President Obama’s foreign policy:
Commenting in a later tweet about First Lady Michelle Obama’s eye-roll-inducing latest “health” fad “Drink Up,” the irrepressible Burge twittered, “First Lady touts benefits of drinking water in Watertown, WI; meanwhile, President touts benefits of Obamacare in Intercourse, PA.”
The Iowahawk preceded that with a tweeted link to USA Today’s report headlined, “First lady’s push to drink more water draws criticism,” wryly observing the political maneuver: “White House pivots to water.”
I’m thinking we should invoice the left media for the entertaining material we’re providing them for free, don’t you agree?
Facebook utilized to organize 2 Million Biker Patriot tsunami
Citizen patriot Belinda Bee decided she’d do something to take back our nation’s capitol on 9/11 and honor those who were murdered on that day twelve years ago and the four more Americans murdered a year ago in Benghazi on the anniversary date.
She launched a Facebook page to organize a motorcycle ride on Washington, D.C., and her efforts revved up a nation of bikers. Within three weeks, the page had attracted 279,956 “likes,” another 1,053,690 “talking about it,” and a million enthusiastic patriots who signed on to rumble into the District of Columbia.
Because of a shared fervor of righteous anger, frustration, and protest over the long train of abuses and usurpations by the Obama administration and Congress, an estimated 900,000 bikers from all over the USA roared into “Mordor on the Potomac” in a show of patriotic unity on 9/11.
Last Saturday, Belinda wrote:
“We heard that there were PATRIOT WAVES organized all over the nation starting way out in California for PATRIOTIC AMERICANS to gather on overpasses to WAVE the bikers through once they reached their gathering point to leave their state.
THEN, once the bikers reached a certain destination west of the Mississippi, there were PATRIOT WAVES as they joined up and grew to keep WAVING on the journey ALL THE WAY TO WASHINGTON DC.
WAY OUT IN CALIFORNIA, THERE WAS A PATRIOTIC VOLUNTEER who worked with our people to make sure that the riders all had a wave.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
PS: THIS IS HOW A GREEK NEWSPAPER DESCRIBED THE BIKERS LEGION GOING TO DC, A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF WRITNG:
From LA they pour out, from New York they fill the roads, the Mid West, like a moving sea of humanity witnesses the Patriot Tsunami as they roll on towards Washington DC!
And still they come, on Harleys on every brand known, the Biker Patriot Army rolls on towards DC in an unstoppable tidal wave of metal, fumes and leather to pay homage and defend the honor of all the people of EVERY nationality who were butchered by Islamists on 9/11.
Not since the Revolutionary War have so many fighting men took to the road in America!
Never have we seen the likes of such a vast citizen army mobilize and deploy in defense of all the free world holds dear and our Governments despise: FREEDOM AND LIBERTY!
I am biker, hear me roar, in numbers too big to ignore!
