(KTVZ-TV) Thursday's second day of testimony in the murder trial of an 86-year-old La Pine-area man who shot and killed his wife featured a dramatic recorded interview with defendant Lawrence Loeffler, who said she would have killed him if he didn't kill her first.
The jury in Deschutes County Circuit Judge Michael Adler's court also heard from an Oregon State Police forensics expert about the two shots from a .25-caliber Beretta handgun that killed Betty Jane Loeffler.
The case's lead detective, sheriff's Det. Scott Beard, took the stand and spoke about Loeffler's behavior, after which jurors of audio and video interviews.
