Remember the campaign promise Obama made about transparency? Or the campaign promise not to allow lobbyists into the White House? How about "there are no red states or blue states, only the United States." Anyone who understood how Chicago-style "pay-to-play" politics works knew that these appealing words were meant for a gullible public.
So when the president's minions blamed Benghazi on a YouTube video, skeptics immediately knew that it was a red herring. More importantly, the president promised, "If you like your current plan, you can keep it. PERIOD." Now skeptics are evaluating another promise: "Iran will never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon." With the assistance of an enabling media, the president's promises will continue to be shrouded in doublespeak.
If the president proclaimed that the sun will rise in the east, it would be wise to verify that it doesn't rise in the west. Increasingly, Obama's record is being measured by the equivalent of "junk science."
