Feinstein: CIA searched Senate computers

(WASHINGTON TIMES) The Senate intelligence committee’s chairwoman on Tuesday accused the CIA of potential constitutional violations and of trying to intimidate Congress to back down in an investigation into the intelligence agency’s enhanced interrogation techniques during the war on terror, in a dispute that’s turning into a major test for both Congress and the administration.

The CIA has accused congressional staffers of criminal behavior, arguing they stole a secret document, while the intelligence committee argues that it was the CIA itself who gave the key document to the committee, and that the CIA has illegally conducted searches of Congress’s computers in violation of the separation of powers

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, in an extensive speech from the Senate floor, confirmed publicly that the CIA had snooped through congressional computers and removed several documents.
