(USMAGAZINE) — Potterheads rejoice! J.K. Rowling is not only writing the screenplay for a film adaptation of her wizarding textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, but she and Warner Brothers are turning the spin-off into a trilogy.
The New York Times reports that with the help of WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara, Rowling has agreed to writing three films, which will be set seven decades before the start of Harry Potter’s story.
The films, which currently don’t have any release dates or casting information, will follow magizoologist Newt Scamander, who is not directly linked to the Potter family, but rather a part of the wizarding world in general.
