Remember the old "Cosmos" show on PBS?
That was the one where pop scientist Carl Sagan would explain how anything was possible over "billions and billions of years" – from the unguided origin of the universe to the spontaneous development of life.
Carl Sagan is long gone. But time has indeed brought back a new "Cosmos" – one that is spewing the same old discredited junk science designed to discredit the Bible's account of creation. And Barack Obama has the back of the new troubadour of the evolved "Cosmos."

The new 13-part "Cosmos" series kicked off Sunday nights recently on 10 networks, including Fox and the National Geographic Channel. It features astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane and Ann Druyan, who co-wrote the 1980 "Cosmos" series with her late husband, Carl Sagan.
Admittedly the show is not designed to educate the public scientifically. Rather, it is designed to instill faith in the public toward science. As Tyson himself explains: "The goal is to convey why science matters to the person, to our society, to us as shepherds of this planet. It involves presenting science in ways that connect to you, so Cosmos can influence you not only intellectually but emotionally, with a celebration of wonder and awe. Science should be part of everybody's life. The prerequisite is not that you become a scientist. It's that at the end of the series, you will embrace science and recognize its role in who and what you are."
TRENDING: The blinders are off
The show includes a "Cosmic Calendar," which asserts the scientifically unprovable notion that the history of the universe spans 13.8 billion years.
It promotes the unscientific nonsense of climate change and neo-Darwinism.

But, most of all, it deliberately and consciously undermines the possibility that God actually created the universe and made man in His own image, as the Bible records.
That was the point of the first episode. Why beat around the bush?
Featuring an introduction by Barack Obama, a lengthy segment pit science against religion by focusing on the Catholic Church's persecution of the 16th-century monk and astronomer Giordano Bruno. The point? A Time magazine review explained the message: "There is a right side and a wrong side of intellectual history, and Cosmos is not afraid to say that science is on the right one."
In a recent radio interview, Tyson made this statement, which would be a surprise to scientists from Isaac Newton to George Washington Carver: "If you start using your scripture, your religious text as a source of your science, that's where you run into problems. There is no example of someone reading their scripture and saying 'I have a prediction about the world that no one knows yet because this gave me insight. Let's go test this prediction and have that theory turn out to be correct.'" In fact, that is precisely what those two gentlemen did – as well as many other accomplished scientists who made world-changing discoveries rather than serve as media stars.

Tyson also noted the Bible is full of contradictions, citing the creation story in Genesis that he suggested had the Earth created before the sun. It does not. In fact, Genesis 1 states:" In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." The heaven includes all heavenly bodies – the sun, the moon, the planets and the stars.
Here we go again!
Haven't we heard all this before?
When will the same scientists who promote man-made catastrophic climate change and Darwinism as gospel truths be forced to apply the scientific method to their theories?

When will the public recognize that such beliefs are inherently "religious" because they start with presuppositions that can never be discredited regardless of the evidence?
When will everyone see through the fact that we now have a scientific establishment that is politically driven and government funded – a combination more dangerous than when the church was in charge?
When will the closed-minded scientific establishment that promotes this propaganda consider the possibility that they do not have a monopoly on truth – and stop blacklisting the increasing number of scientists who see design in every part of the universe?
