(Palm Beach County) The shooting of a man in a poolside altercation early Saturday with an off-duty Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy in the deputy’s suburban Boca Raton neighborhood shocked residents.
“I can’t believe it,” said one, who didn’t want to give her name. “I’ve lived here for three years, and it’s been a quiet community. Nothing has ever happened here.”
The off-duty deputy was headed for the Reflections community pool in Boca Del Mar , south of Camino Real and west of Military Trail, when he encountered a couple “engaged in sexual activity,” said Teri Barbera, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. The deputy asked them to leave.
