Los Angeles (LA Times) - A shallow, magnitude-4.7 earthquake was reported Monday morning five miles from Westwood, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:25 a.m. PDT at a depth of 5.0 miles.

The quake was felt over a large area of Southern California. Metro said there might be some delays due to the temblor.

The USGS downgraded the quake to a 4.4 magnitude. A spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department said there were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries. A spokeswoman from the Los Angeles Police Department also had no reports of damage.
