Considering the number of Democratic presidents that have been taken advantage of by Soviet and now Russian leaders, one would think that Democrats would be careful to trust again. Yet, this is exactly what Hillary did when she publicly "reset" Russian relations. She may be quick to trust her husband, but the stakes are much higher in foreign relations.
After World War II, Truman was hoodwinked in Korea, Kennedy in Cuba, Johnson in Vietnam, Carter in Afghanistan, Clinton in Venezuela, and now Obama in Ukraine. Albert Einstein once said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." One can only conclude that Democratic leaders are insane or incredibly naïve.
There were signs before World War II that the Russians were a crafty bunch. With the help of journalists, such as Walter Duranty, Roosevelt was able to conceal their deception. Modern-day journalism continues this legacy, and Hillary will probably continue to trust if she is elected. When contrasting that with Republicans' success in Russian relations, liberal journalists must have an agenda all of their own.
