America’s survival is based upon the readiness of our armed forces. America’s very survival is based on our ability to field armies and respond to threats from aggressor nations with the best equipment and technology money can by. America must be second to none!
The military must be able to field Army and Marine personnel that have full body armor. Upon engaging any other opposing ground force, they must have aircraft in close support of the troops to support and provide medical aid quickly.
America always seems to want to downsize and spend less and less on the military in peacetime. We entered World War I and World War II with armies that were not well equipped. Casualties were higher than they needed to be. It was the men and women of the military that overcame the obstacles and won the wars at a great price.
When the United States of America appears weak or indecisive we will be attacked. It would be better for all Americans that our military strike fear in the hearts of those that would attack us or feel they could beat us in a nuclear war.
Lastly, Congress seems to want to slash veteran benefits and has at every opportunity. Not enough is done for our disabled veterans. I am sickened by the way they are treated. Twenty-two veterans take their own lives every day in this country. This must stop. It can be stopped.
