WESTLAND, Mich. (WJBK) — The Westland Police Department has made arrests of the three subjects involved in the April 3rd assault and battery against army veteran Adam Wagner. The Westland Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying these three subjects. Both tips from the public and a thorough police investigation by detectives resulted in their capture. The Westland Police Department will be forwarding a warrant recommendation to the Wayne County Prosecutors Office to determine criminal charges. This is still an ongoing investigation.  At this point in time the identities of the three subjects will not be released.

The incident began around 2 a.m. April 3 outside a 7-11 on South Venoy Road when a group of men noticed Adam Wagner’s military ID, which apparently prompted them to start making derogatory comments to him about the U.S. Military.

“They were saying, ‘How can you be in the military when they let black people in the military?’ They used the ‘n word’, saying [he] was an ‘n-word’ lover,” says girlfriend Angela Deguise.
