Larry Stone, author of the newly released “Noah: The Real Story,” will be a guest Thursday on the popular “The 700 Club” television program to talk about the No. 1 movie in America and how it misinterprets the biblical story of Noah and the Flood.
Hollywood’s “Noah,” starring Russell Crowe, deluged theaters across the country last weekend, hauling in $43 million in its first three days.
But the real Noah will be discussed on the “The 700 Club” when author and biblical expert Stone sets the record straight. He’ll use the biblical narrative of the historical flood and the building of the Ark to correct the image director Darren Aranofsky created.
“The 700 Club” is a live television program that airs weekdays before a studio audience at the Christian Broadcasting Network’s broadcast facilities in Virginia Beach, Va.
“The 700 Club,” on the air continuously since 1966, is one of the longest-running programs in broadcast history. The program is hosted by Pat Robertson, Terry Meeuwsen and Gordon Robertson, with news anchor Lee Webb. “The 700 Club” is a mix of news and commentary, interviews, feature stories and Christian ministry.
“The 700 Club” can be seen in 96 percent of the homes in the U.S. and is carried on ABC Family cable network, FamilyNet, Trinity Broadcasting Network and numerous local U.S. television stations. It is seen daily by approximately 1 million viewers.
CBN International maintains 15 television production centers around the world that create indigenous versions of “The 700 Club” and other Christian programs in 39 languages. CBN International programs are broadcast in 138 countries to an estimated yearly viewing audience of 360 million people.
Aronofsky’s movie carries a disclaimer at the beginning stating it deviates from biblical truths. Stone, an expert on the Bible’s Noah account, will tell “The 700 Club” viewers what is known about one of the most famous Bible stories.
“Noah: The Real Story” includes everything you wanted to know about Noah, the Flood, the animals, the Ark and even the search for the Ark today.
For centuries, American monks, Russian soldiers, German scientists, an English politician, an American astronaut and a “Baywatch” star have looked for it.
Stone believes his book is not only the perfect companion to the new Hollywood film but the proper tool for showing why the disclaimer was necessary at the start of the movie.

“My book doesn’t deviate at all from the biblical tale,” said Stone.
The book covers everything from the science of the Ark and Flood, to how Noah gathered and took care of the animals to where the Ark might be today.
“With Darren Aronofsky’s $130 million religious epic Noah coming out … a lot of people are going to be searching for answers when it comes to information about the Flood, God’s judgment, and the Ark,” said Stone. “I’m confident my book will provide the deep answers that even Russell Crowe himself (playing Noah in the movie) couldn’t hope to give.”
Filled with fascinating stories, images, controversial details and thorough research, “Noah: The Real Story” answers your questions and more, including Noah’s secret for surviving the end of the world.
Stone is author of “The Story of the Bible,” named one of the 10 best Christian books of the year, and “Women of the Bible.” He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and the University of Iowa School of Journalism.
