In this column, I simply want to encourage conservative women to know this: Ladies, we are powerful! I wrote a book of the same title as a source of encouragement for Christian conservative women. In an era in which liberalism and socialism are wedged into every sector of society, we need to be encouraged and reminded of the power within us.
By virtue of simply standing for what is right, from the perspective of God, our nation’s founders and conservatism overall, we possess unique, transformative power, real power that speaks to the plethora of society’s ills and traitorous, reckless government.
To what power am I referring? God’s power. I wholeheartedly believe that conservatism is rooted in Christianity. Our founders, as well as America’s founding documents, attest to this fact. God’s power enabled men and women to seek a country by which they could express religious freedom and wrest themselves from abusive, tyrannical government. God’s power strengthened our forefathers in the fight for freedom, and that same power is a source of strength to us today.
By depending on God’s power, conservative women are equipped to stand for God, family and country in the face of cultural depravity that mocks all three at every turn.
Power to proudly support husbands, raise families, become executives or become homemakers. Power to pack a gun or pack school lunches. Power to run for office, run a business or run errands. Power to single-handedly raise kids or serve our country (or both). Power to be everything God created us to be and to wear it well in society without fear of retribution.
Led by truth and guided by common sense, conservative women spurn a life dependent upon government handouts and degrading social programs. Such attributes factor into valid solutions for our homes and communities.
Liberals do their best to portray us as weaklings. They taunt us, mock our God, degrade our values, and then sit back and hope we squirm, hide and shut up. But they fail to realize that a powerful conservative woman can handle whatever junk they throw and keep right on stepping, often utilizing liberals’ stupidity and baseless position to check them on who wields power.
Sometimes I encounter conservative women who don’t believe that their conservative stance makes a difference. They talk about all the ruthless power players Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama have on their side. They rehash foreboding liberal policies they believe will topple America at any moment. They feel we are running out of time and, in response, find it best to sit quietly and just hope by some fluke things improve or dissipate.
I remind them of who they are – powerful conservative women – and, as such, demand responsibility to act accordingly no matter how they “feel.” Powerful conservative women rise above the occasion and courageously answer the call to promote godliness, righteousness and truth in a culture that promotes just the opposite. We don’t back down.
Obviously, we should be concerned with treacherous liberal policies – and architects of such – but not to the point of being immobilized. Never. And becoming extremely defensive and reactionary doesn’t speak to who we are. Instead, powerfully propagating the conservative message on the basis of our convictions, which are backed with historical and present-day evidence proving that conservatism works, is a proven successful formula.
Conservative women are entrusted with life-changing truths society needs to hear, see and, hopefully, emulate. Although liberals attempt to trounce our position, we must continually represent! Someone will be affected for good! The worse thing we can do is to be timid about telling the truth. We’re not pushovers, and we must act like God’s got this, because he does.
In my opinion, no conservative woman has undergone more criticism and endured the brunt of scathing, harmful verbal attacks from the left as Gov. Sarah Palin. Hands down, “Lady P” (as I refer to her) rolls with the punches, rebounds and resolutely whips liberals – and some Republicans – into shape by boldly standing for conservatism. She stays above the fray no matter how vicious the attack. She not only answers her critics, but also schools them in the process. She expertly flaunts her power to promote justice and American Exceptionalism and unabashedly stands for godly principles. She’s an example to us all.
Gov. Palin is powerfully blazing a trail supporting other powerful conservative women in key races, the most intriguing being the woman poised to defeat Barack Obama’s rubber stamp, Al Franken: Minnesota’s award-winning state senator, Julianne Ortman.
Powerful stuff, ladies.
Conservatism is the real deal, and powerful conservative women are fighting in the trenches for us, for families, for America.
Through the power within us as conservative women, let’s fight with them.
