(Wired) Google wants to take you shopping.
The company’s search engine has long been a place where you can research a world of products, but in recent months, Google has been furiously rolling out new tools and experimental projects that nudge you as close as possible to making an actual purchase. From online shopping services that put purchases in your hands before the end of the day to a mobile system that alerts you when you’re approaching a product you want while out in the offline world, the search giant is doing everything it can to supplant Amazon as your primary shopping engine.
