Quibbling over the Sabbath

By WND Staff

I just read your article “Christians go head-to-head over Sabbath.”

I find it a pointless debate. Neither debater shows any understanding of the missiological principle of adapting the practices of the faith to fit with the target audience. We call it a “functional substitute,” and it is practiced by every successful cross-cultural worker. Thus, the entire debate is wasted breath over a matter of small importance. Paul wrote in Colossians that no day is more sacred than another, thus freeing every culture to selected its own day to honor the Lord and the resurrection.

It is not a major issue to me. It just seems pointless to argue over this when our nation and culture is crumbling. Far better we unite to defend the faith rather than quibble over this.
