(KSFY) — The South Dakota Republican Party passed a resolution at its state convention Saturday, calling for the impeachment of President Barack Obama.
The resolution says President Obama has violated his oath of office, citing the release of five Taliban combatants in a trade for captive U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl and the president's statement that people could keep their health insurance companies. It also cites recent Environmental Protection Agency regulations on power plants.
It calls on the state's U.S. Representatives to start impeachment proceedings against the president. Delegates voted 191-176 in favor of the resolution.
