Video shows Fox News anchor's arrest

Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett was briefly jailed last month after being arrested for public intoxication at a bar in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.

As WND reported, the "America's News HQ" co-anchor was taken into custody after police were called to deal with an intoxicated man.

Jarrett, 59, was belligerent and refused to follow police orders, according to a report by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

The Minnesota State Airport Police have now released Jarrett’s incident report, as well as video of Jarrett brawling with police officers at the airport.

The video and report were obtained by the website Gawker following a FOIA request.

According to the report, Jarrett had recently been released from a alcohol and chemical dependency program, but had consumed one glass of vodka along with an anti-epileptic drug known as Gabapentin immediately prior to his arrest.

Jarrett was subsequently charged with obstructing the legal process by interfering with a peace officer, a misdemeanor, and was booked into jail.

Jarrett is a co-anchor of Fox's "America's News HQ," which airs Saturdays and Sundays. He joined the network in 2002 and recently covered the George Zimmerman murder trial and the crash of Asiana Flight 214 at the San Francisco Airport.

On May 12, TV Newser reported Jarrett had requested time off from Fox for undisclosed "personal reasons."

Jarrett isn't the first Fox News star to find himself on the wrong side of the law.

WND reported on anchor Shepard Smith’s arrest in 2000 for allegedly driving his car into another reporter who was standing in a parking space she attempted to save for a friend. Smith went unpunished by Fox News for what police say was aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and criminal charges against him were eventually dropped.
