(NBC NEWS) A fast-moving wildfire in Yosemite National Park was threatening to spiral out of control early Tuesday.
While firefighters made progress battling a larger wildfire in northern California’s vineyard country, the El Portal wildfire burning across four square miles of Yosemite and the neighboring Stanislaus National Forest was at just five percent containment late Monday.
Three campsites and several roads were closed and around 100 homes were at risk, despite what the National Park Service said was "incredible firefighting work."
