Thank you for your informative report on the "new History" curriculum. Why do we cave in to these people, who are not educators? How do we allow them to usurp the authority of the local school boards, parents and teachers?
We should not even have a federal Department of Education. If refusing to use their recommendations results in no federal funding, so be it. I have taught in private schools that had none, one with three Ph.D.s on the staff. The graduates' scores were uniformly significantly higher than the norm set by the feds. The primary responsibility for the education rests on parents, not the government, and parents should refuse to relinquish their position.
I believe the rise in homeschooling is about to take a quantum leap.
