(IOWA CITY PRESS-CITIZEN) — It’s like the holiday shopping season: The presidential vetting season seems to keep coming earlier and earlier.
Seven potential GOP presidential types will pop in for an Iowa audition during an 11-day span that began Saturday and stretches to next Tuesday.
“It probably would have been better if five or nine were coming because some smart-alec political analyst will no doubt comment about Hillary Clinton as Snow White and the seven dwarfs,” said Steffen Schmidt, a political analyst at Iowa State University.

If Clinton seems reluctant to even whisper the word “Iowa” much less be seen here as she toys with firing up a second presidential campaign machine, some Republicans feel exactly the opposite.
