Threats against the United States of America must be taken seriously these days. Osama bin Laden proved that low-tech, low-budget terrorist strikes could deliver a catastrophic blow. Osama bin Laden issued a fatwa or statement that he was going to attack the United States of America, which was largely ignored by the State Department while Bill Clinton was president. During Bill Clinton’s presidency, it was reported by the military that they could have killed Osama bin Laden, but the order apparently was not given.

During the presidency of George W. Bush and after a lull in fighting Osama bin Laden’s forces in Tora Bora, Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden walked into Pakistan while a contingent of the U.S. Army waited for orders to pursue and kill him. Osama bin Laden then went into Pakistan until his whereabouts were again discovered during the presidency of Barack Obama.

Osama bin Laden was killed May 2, 2011.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is the leader of the Islamic State. The jihadist group, known by its former name, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, is responsible for seizing cities across northern Iraq this summer, shooting and beheading countless Iraqis along the way. Baghdadi, rarely seen, stepped into the world spotlight just over a month ago via a 21-minute video of a rambling sermon. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was in U.S. custody and released.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi leads ISIS or ISIL, also known as the Islamic State. This group was severed from ties with al-Qaida because they were deemed too violent. Soldiers that surrender to them are summarily executed; some are beheaded or crucified. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi issued a fatwa when the town of Mosul fell stating that all women and girls were to be circumcised. It was described by the chief of police in Mosul as a gift to the people of Mosul. People have been given the choice to change religion or suffer death. Some civilians have been literally buried alive. In the midst of the beheadings, crucifixions, rape, the order of the mutilation of female genitals and murder in Iraq, there has been no proposal by the United Nations to take action. ISIS, or ISIL, kills thousands of innocent Iraqis on a daily basis.

At this time, the United States of America is making an aerial attack to support the Kurds and Peshmerga in the northern part of the country in areas surrounding the city of Irbil. Quite recently, the Islamic State has publicly vowed to attack the United States of America and plant its flag on top of the White House in Washington, D.C.

The threat to attack the United States of America must be taken seriously. ISIS, or ISIL, must be utterly destroyed. Those who support this group of criminals must be apprehended if possible and punished appropriately. This threat is very real. The group has the personnel and the resources to launch a catastrophic attack on the United States of America. The first opportunity to destroy these criminals must be seized and everything done to neutralize this threat to America from ever reappearing again. Kill or capture Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi! Prosecute the followers of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to the full extent of the law. In 2011, the U.S. posted a $10-million bounty for help capturing him. This opportunity must not be missed!
