WASHINGTON, D.C. – Speaking at the annual Values Voters Summit in Washington Friday, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, used contrasting values to describe the sharp, core differences between Republicans and Democrats, who he accused of becoming "an extreme, radical party."
To drive his point home, he scorched the Obama administration by instructing the president, "If you are suing nuns, you've done something really wrong."

He was referring to an Obamacare case pitting the government against the Little Sisters of the Poor.
The senator launched the topic by musing how people in Washington lecture Republicans that to win elections, they must abandon their values.

But, he said, "Our values are who we are, and why we are here."
The Texan asserted America is still a center-right country that values its religious heritage and constitutional liberties.

Despite that, he observed, the Obama administration had chosen to sue the Little Sisters of the Poor to force them to pay for abortion-inducing drugs in their health-care coverage.
To highlight the differences between the left and the right, Cruz suggested inviting Hillary Clinton "to spend a day debating the Little Sisters of the Poor."
"She can embrace suing the sisters," said Cruz. "As for me, I'll stand with the nuns."
