"One billion Mohammedans" is the refrain we hear. I just watched a broadcast in which it was reported again.
The "1 billion Mohammedans" claim is a myth!
There are not 1 billion.

What there is are nearly 1 billion people who live under various forms of Mohammedan rule.
This is a fundamental difference: There are not 1 billion Muslims, but 1 billion people who live under Muslim government.

This is where the comparisons become interesting.
As a child growing up, I often heard the refrains regarding the enemy at that time: Communism.

It was the same – 1 billion Communists.
The message at that time was that the world needed to learn how to "co-exist" with Communism and that over time it would become "nice."
There was a fundamental problem then as there is now.
There were not 1 billion "Communists," but there were 1 billion poor people sentenced to live under the hell of Communism.
When the poor "Communists" were asked they put it starkly and simply, they pleaded, "Please help us. Please help us escape Communism."

As the overnight fall of Communism in 1989 showed us so clearly, it was all an illusion!
There was no "Communism"; it was a police state that was held together by violence and intimidation. And there were no actual "Communists"; just those forced to live under "Communism."
The "dirty little secret" of Islam is easy to see when you actually live in a "Muslim" country.
First, nobody prays.

Yes, they are all forced to go to the mosque on Friday – you don't have a choice – but the rest of the so-called Muslim rules of living just don't get followed.
Nobody prays five times a day. The mosque is empty except when people are forced to attend.
Also, an interesting thing happens during the month of fasting ... people gain weight!
Is that possible?
Yup!
It is all a facade.
The "fasting" is just during the day. The reality is people sit around looking at their watches, anticipating the official "sundown" when the "fast" ends.
Once the sun sets the party begins!
Not having eaten all day, people are starving in the evening and, ironically, "pig out" at night, so most people actually gain weight during the month of fasting because of the strange way they overeat.
The reality is exactly like it was during Communism. The message from the poor "1 billion" people sentenced to live in Muslim country is very simple – "please help us!"
I regularly have discussions with imams, the religious leaders of Islam.
I ask them a very simple question.
"How many Muslims would there be if it were not forced?"
First they get upset and all bent out of shape and say I am insulting them.
They then calm down, and I explain to them that if you are told you were "born" a Muslim and that the penalty for leaving the "religion" you never voluntarily joined is death, that it is not really a religion.
They get silent and start to think.
"So, if you took away the matter of being forced, what percentage do you think would truly believe?"
"A-ha," said one of the imams. "I would say maybe 10 percent that really believe; the rest are just forced."
This means that very few "Muslims" really believe in the normal use of the word.
Are there 1 billion Muslims?
No! There are 1 billion poor people, as those living under Communism a generation ago, that are begging to be liberated.
The system of political Islam, just like Communism, is not economically and ideologically sustainable.
The "Spring" was a start to its demise. Political Islam will collapse, and in its place – albeit struggling as has been the state of freedom following the fall of Communism – freedom will come and free the 1 billion having to live under the hell of political Islam.
As with all, they simply want to be free!
It is up to the free world and Christian world to pray, work and do all we can to help them be free.
Political Islam is a myth.
Following the liberation of Iraq, we heard it over and over again: "We just want to be like you!"
The poor people living under political Islam just want to be free.
Let us help them!
