We see articles about improving public schools and having prayer in public schools.
I think we are on the wrong subject. The question we need to get to is not whether we should have prayer in public schools; the question we need to address is whether we should have public schools in the first place!

I believe that our country took a sharp left turn in the late 19th century in regard to education. Parents, instead of teaching children themselves or sending them to private institutions that would promote the values the parents wanted taught, suddenly became enamored with the prospect of "free" education from the government.
Now we are seeing clearly the fruit of this decision. Please, Americans, let's think this through again!
