(WASHINGTON FREE BEACON) A Super PAC run by former aides to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) is running a radio ad in North Carolina that accuses of GOP Senate candidate Thom Tillis of helping to “cause the shooting death of Trayvon Martin,” the Florida teenager who was killed under controversial circumstances in early 2012.
Financed by Senate Majority PAC—one of the outside groups that have spent more than $30 million attacking Republicans in North Carolina—the ad is targeted at African-American voters.
“Tillis won’t fight for us … he made it harder for communities of color to vote,” the ad says. “Tillis even led the effort to pass the type of stand your ground laws that caused the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.”
