(I24NEWS.TV) — Israel will supply Egyptian consumers with natural gas from its off-shore Tamar reservoir for the next seven years.
According to the Haaretz financial daily The Marker, the agreement reached with the Dolphinus Holdings company is worth an estimated $500-700 million a year.
Egypt supplied Israel with natural gas for 20 years, until 2012, when a series of terror attacks on the pipeline in the Sinai brought the deal to an end. Recent discoveries of off-shore gas reservoirs have turned Israel into a supplier to its neighbors.
